In fall 2016 Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) USA will launch Forced From Home, a traveling interactive educational exhibit designed to raise public awareness about the plight of the world’s 60 million refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and migrants.
This outdoor exhibit will employ a blend of new technology including virtual reality and 360 degree video, personal stories from MSF field workers, and interactions with authentic relief materials to immerse visitors in the realities of displacement. In small groups, visitors will explore different aspects of being a refugee, a migrant, or an IDP, and gain insight on why people must flee their homes, what the search for safety can be like, what sorts of legal protections they are entitled to, and the many dangers and health risks they might face.
Forced From Home will launch in five cities in fall 2016, with a nationwide tour to follow.
